Vides Projekti
State enterprise Vides Projekti was established in 1997 to foster the realization of environmental investment and regional development projects, providing the necessary assistance for the project implementators, state institutions, especially, local municipalities, and international finance organizations during the whole project implementation.
| The main tasks of Vides Projekti are: | | ▪ | | to provide the service for environmental, nature protection and regional development projects; | | ▪ | | preparation of projects according to the priorities and requirements set by the Ministry of Environment; | | ▪ | | to attach credit resources and donations; | | ▪ | | co-operation with the international finance organizations and donor countries; | | ▪ | | and the supervision and management of projects. |

| | Services offered by the Vides Projekti are very diverse, including: | | ▪ | | Environmental planning and landscape architecture; | | ▪ | | Research of polluted sites and preparation and implementation of remediation projects; | | ▪ | | Consultations and preparation of projects by the order of local
authorities, state institutions and private employers to attract
funding from the European Union and other Assisstance Funds, and
different credit resources; | | ▪ | | Elaboration of feasibility studies in cooperation with local authorities; | | ▪ | | Consultations and preparation of projects for Environmental Impact
Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) procedure
and for receiving permission for polluting activities of different
categories; | | ▪ | | Planning and implementation of public information activities on the
protection of nature and environment; Complex campaigns in the mass
media, television broadcasting “Vides Fakti”; | | ▪ | | Filming services (advertising clip “Welcome to My Country” by the order
of the Latvian Institute, films on the projects realized under the
European Union LIFE Programme a.o.); | | ▪ | | Providing of partnership in international organisations’ projects –
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Global Environmental
Facility (GEF) a.o.; | | ▪ | | Working-out and implementation of energy efficience projects; | | ▪ | | Working-out and implementation of waste menagement projects; | | ▪ | | Organization of seminars and conferences; | | ▪ | | Implementation of Ecotourism Infrastructure projects; | | ▪ | | Preparation of projects in informative technologies. |
State enterprise Vides projekti is not affraid of
taking up and managing complicated, even contradictory projects. Vides
projekti regularly informs the society, helping to acquire more
positive attitude towards the projects. There is an independent project
within the Vides projekti – Vides Filmu Studija (Wildlife and
Environmental Film Productions), which has specialized in the films
about nature and environment. Vides Filmu Studija creates a weekly,
informative and analytical television broadcasting “Vides fakti”
(Environmental Facts) on actual matters of environment, nature
processes and human habitat in Latvia and world-wide. The “Vides Fakti”
has been several times awarded by the Latvia State Television as the
best broadcasting of independent producers. Vides Filmu Studija also
produces documentaries, educational and industrial films.
Possibilities of Vides projekti
Since the
establishment in 1997 Vides projekti has gained experience in
realization of projects and in communication with clients. Vides
projekti has based its personnel policy on continuous improvement of
employees’ skills, providing the raising of qualification, taking part
in seminars, conferences and in-service training programmes in Latvia
and abroad. The regular renewal of software and hardware helps to
fulfill the orders meeting the highest technical requirements. The
access to the information and data nowadays plays more and more
essential role in a successful and qualitative fulfillment of the
orders. State enterprise Vides projekti uses the public available data
bases with the maximal capacity to provide the necessary information
for qualitative service. In 2004 Vides projekti was certified to the
Quality Management System standard LVS EN ISO 9001:2000 and received a
certificate, which confirms the accordance of Vides projekti with the
international standards. The enterprise is now certified in
working-out, implementation, management and supervision of projects,
