Water: local planning and mangement
Practical examples from England - Germany - Latvia - Spain - Sweden

Since April 2005 the ENMaR project has been engaged in the local implementation process of the EC Water Framework Directive (WFD). Within nearly three years of interregional co-operation there were more than 40 seminars organised in the partner regions and the core areas spatial planning, water management, tourism as well as forestry and agriculture and their linkages to the WFD and regional development have been discussed.

On 18th and 19th October 2007 the ENMaR project held its final event in Riga, Latvia. The conference aimed to present results of the ENMaR project based on the activities and experiences made in the river basins. About 90 local stakeholders from England, Germany, Latvia, Spain and Sweden attended the conference.
